On January 2, 2024, this aircraft was involved in an accident as JA516. The aircraft collided with a Japanese Coast Guard plane when it mistakenly entered the runway at Tokyo's Haneda Airport while the Japan Airlines plane was landing. All crew and passengers of the Japan Airlines plane survived, but 5 out of 6 crew members of the coast guard plane perished in the accident. Both aircrafts were damaged beyond economic repair.
