Iran Air Boeing 747SP EP-IAC
This is a 1/400 scale model of Iran Air's Boeing 747SP. This model is manufactured by NG Models and is the exact replica of the aircraft with registration number EP-IAC. This aircraft was the airline's last passenger Boeing 747SP and was retired in May 2016.
The Boeing 747, affectionately known worldwide as “The Queen of the Skies” or “The Jumbo Jet”, single-handedly changed commercial air travel upon its introduction during the late 60’s. With a production run that lasted for more than 50 years, over 1000 units of this plane were made and graced the international skies.
Iran Air operated a total of 22 Boeing 747s in its lifetime, one of which, a Boeing 747-200C, is still operating as of this writing. Iran Air operated 9 units of 747-100s, 8 units of 747-200s, and 4 units of 747SPs. The airline holds the recognition of operating the world's last passenger Boeing 747-100 and 747SP variants in commercial passenger service. Both plane variants are now retired.
