Lufthansa Boeing 747-8I D-ABYT
This is a 1/400 scale model of Lufthansa's Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental. This model is manufactured by NG Models Lite and is the exact replica of the aircraft with registration number D-ABYT. This aircraft wears the airline's classic "Retro" livery from the 1970/80's.
The Boeing 747, affectionately known worldwide as “The Queen of the Skies” or “The Jumbo Jet”, single-handedly changed commercial air travel upon its introduction during the late 60’s. With a production run that lasted for more than 50 years, over 1000 units of this plane were made and graced the international skies.
Lufthansa operated 79 Boeing 747s in its lifetime, 27 of which are still in operation as of 2025. They currently operate the largest fleet of passenger 747 worldwide, 19 of which are of the larger "-8I" variant. They will retire their -400 variant within the next few years, but the -8 variant will continue to operate beyond the 2030s.
