United States Air Force "USAF" North American XB-70 Valkyrie 20001
This is a 1/200 scale model of the United States Air Force's North American XB-70 Valkyrie. This model is manufactured by SQ Wings and is the exact replica of the aircraft with registration number 20001. This aircraft wears the USAF livery, was one of two planes ever built, and was retired last February 1969.
The Valkyrie was developed in the 1960s for the USAF. Designed as a high-speed, long-range strategic bomber, it was capable of cruising at Mach 3.0 at altitudes of over 70,000 feet. Its sleek, futuristic design included delta wings and unique folding wingtips to enhance stability at high speeds.
It was intended to deliver nuclear weapons into enemy territory but was rendered obsolete by advancements in missile technology. The project was ultimately repurposed for experimental research in aerodynamics and supersonic flight.
